The Synopsis
At sixteen, Jake and Jess promised that if they were both single at twenty-five, they would move in together. Nine years
later the pact becomes an alarming reality. Jake is a sarcastic software engineer terrified of commitment; Jess is an
optimistic marketing coordinator with no filter. They insist they have no romantic interest in each other, a claim their
friends Derek, Maya, Austin and Chloe immediately turn into a betting pool. Across two seasons of witty banter, dating
disasters, career chaos and painfully thin apartment walls, Jake and Jess attempt to remain ordinary roommates while
everyone around them sees what they refuse to admit. The result is a warm ensemble comedy about friendship,
adulthood and the terrifying possibility that the right person has been beside you all along.
